Ceilings & Texture

Sanding a new drywall ceiling

Popcorn ceiling removal, ceiling repairs and new texture: knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel or smooth. We also hang and finish new ceilings.

Ceilings are the hardest surface to get right, so they get the most prep and our most careful finishing.

Out with the popcorn

We cover floors and walls, scrape, then skim coat so the ceiling ends up flat and smooth. Ceilings from before the mid-1980s should be tested for asbestos first, and we tell you when that applies.

Texture to match

A flat ceiling changes the whole room

Taking down popcorn and finishing the ceiling smooth makes a room look newer and brighter, and much easier to paint later. Get a free estimate.

Questions we get about ceilings and texture

Can popcorn ceilings contain asbestos?

Ceilings applied before the mid-1980s can. We recommend a lab test before scraping those.

Yes, which is why we cover everything in plastic and clean up after.

Yes. We repair and blend knockdown, orange peel and other textures.

Many rooms are done in two to three days, drying time included.
